MPRT1270 Macintosh Technologies
Program Information
This is one of the most valuable classes you can take here at HTC. It is required on most diplomas. MPRT1270 Macintosh Technologies is taught by Vicki Ashby a Certified Macintosh and IT specialist. The class is offered only once a year and this is it!
You’ll have full hands on training! In theĀ class students take the computers all apart, learn how to replace or add parts, and than get them running again. Vicki will show you all secret tips and tricks of the Mac System 10.xx known only to the pro’s!
Everything you learn in this class you’ll be able to use at home on your own computer or at work. Save yourself the time and money of having your Mac “act up” = you’ll be able to fix it yourself!
Have You Joined The HTC HammerHeads???
Program Information
HTC has a new student / faculty social site called “HTC HammerHeads”. It’s a sort of private and secure “My Space” where faculty and students can get to know each other and share information. Within the site are groups of special interests, a place for you own page, a place to post your pictures and videos, blogs and more.
Joining is by invitation only. If you’re an HTC student in the Printing Technologies program. Stop by and see me. I’ll need your email so I can send you your personal invitation. Join the fun and the HTC community!

Registration For Spring 2009 Classes

Dates to Remember:
Priority Registration For Current Students: October 27th
Open Registration For Non-Students: November 4th
Spring Tuition Due Date: December 22nd, 2008
Fist Day Of Spring Semester: January 12th, 2009
We’re already gearing up for Spring Semester of 2009. Please meet with program advisor or counselor prior to registration. It’s important to take the correct classes in the correct order! You can obtain a course flow chart for the printing program at the front desk of the campus. Be sure you complete all first semester classes before starting 2nd semester classes. Keeping the courses is order makes sure you meet the prerequisites and eliminates scheduling problems.
Fall 2008 Classes Start Aug. 25th
Program Information
It’s time to register! Classes in the Printing And Prepress Technologies program start on Monday, August 25th. Classes fill fast so early registration is required. Tuition payments for the fall semester are due on July 31, 08.
As always - there’s lots of new and exciting developments for the fall. Gary and Keith have spent the summer in industry! That means we’ll be bringing back to class all the latest and newest technologies that industry is using!
The new Heidelberg plate setter is up and in full operation also! We can now go direct from computer to our digital presses, or direct to plate! We’re matching the capabilities and technology of industry every step of the way.
In-spite of a tight job market and economy all of our AAS Degree graduates got good high paying jobs. There’s a rewarding career awaiting you in Minnesota’s Printing Industry!
Heidelberg Classes Start!

February 5th - Today is the first day of the Heidelberg Classes, and the class was more than successful! When I arrived at the HTC this morning at 8:30 am, the class was underway! Scott and his Heidelberg team were busy with instructing the students with the basics of folding. The new Heidelberg folder was soon running the the familiar sounds of paper being folded was soon permeating the shop. I was very impressed with the students and the instructors! Our HTC students were also present, leaning the skills of the trade from the experts. HTC is looking forward to a wonderful teaching / learning experience - thanks to Heidelberg!
Cold Weather / Bad Weather & Classes
Program Information
When the weather is extreme - cold, snow or storms, listen to WCCO for
school closings. Even if there are no announcements of the college closing use your common sense. The printing staff doesn’t want you to have an accident or endanger your self trying to get to class. Dress in layers, leave yourself lots of drive and listen to the weather. If you think you can’t make it in - just give us a call and let us know. You can always get notes from other students. MPRT1270 Mac Troubleshooting - No Class 1/23

Last week Vicki Ashby, instructor for MPRT1270 Mac Troubleshooting, announced that there will be no class on January 23. An out side course assignment will be made for that day. Vicki will return for class the following week. We hope you’re enjoying your trip to Hawaii Vicki! It’s a lot warmer there than it is here!

Press / Bindery Enrollment Oportunities

The Spring semester of 2008 is off to a great start. Enrollment is high, all the new equipment and computer updates are working and all our new students are excited to be here. For those of you who missed the first start date of January 14, there is good news! The Press / Bindery department is accepting new students every 5 weeks.
